Open to the public by reservation only a couple evenings a week, fully licensed and non smoking. Action and Recreation:Tourism Smithers (www.tourismsmithers.com) is an excellent all-purpose website for information on recreational opporitunities in Smithers and the surrounding area. Hiking: right from our doorstep (Malkow Lookout), trails through the fields. A bit farther away: 10 min. drive: Babine Mountain Provincial Park, 20 min. drive: Hudson Bay Mountain Glacier and Twin Falls (spectacular in early summer), 40 min. drive: Telkwa Range, .... endless possibilities! Biking: guided or on your own on the Perimeter trail, the Cronin Pass, along the Bulkley River or up the Kitseguecla Valley. Contact Peter (www.mcbike.bc.ca) he will give you the details. Artists and talented people:Mark Perry, a Smithereen all the way!, singer and songwriter, responsible for alot of great dances in the Glenwood Community Hall (www.markperry.bc.ca) Karen Sobey, painter, her large 4 x 8 paintings (there are also smaller ones) capture the light and colour in an incredible way . Mairead Sikkes, painter, oil on canvas, watercolour, her paintings are stories from around here, listen to the creek run over the rocks, smell the flowers in the field (www.bulkley.net/~nico/gallery.html) . Brenda Mallory, painter, beautiful wildlife watercolours, northern scenes, many of her paintings can be seen in local businesses, and the Art Gallery. Rolf Kopfle, worldclass wildlife photographer, immigrated from Switzerland in 1996. Many of his pictures can be seen all over Smithers and in the Logpile Lodge. Wendy Perry, local photographer who knows her way around the country, be that on horseback or crosscountry skies, catching the details of this beautiful valley. Her work is hanging here at the Logpile as well! Myron Kozak: He was dedicated to photography and gave his time generously to people and to projects that reflected his love and concern for the land. An accident took his life in 1995. (www.kozak.bc.ca) Dennis Clark & Wes Giesbrecht did the log work for the Logpile Lodge. They design and build log homes and remote cabins. They constructed the Joe L'Orsa Cabin in beautiful Babine Mountains Provincial Park.
